This has been a great first apartment for me. I have a studio, and it is much larger than any similarly-priced studios I have found elsewhere in the city. I have space for my bed, a large sofa, coffee table, dresser, desk, TV, etc. in my living room. There is a decent-sized, slightly narrow kitchen with space for my kitchen table and four chairs. The bathroom is small, but there is a linen closet, a walk-in closet, and another closet with shelves in the living room. The management is fantastic here. The apartment manager is in her office all day Monday - Saturday, and she is one of the most helpful people I've ever met. She has been working here for years, and you can tell that she takes her job seriously. I have only had to call for maintenance a few times this year, but whenever I do, the problem is fixed by the time I get home from work. I always feel safe in my apartment, and the neighbors are not loud. The building is about 3-4 blocks from the red line Sheridan stop, and it's right off of Lake Shore Drive. Also, Disney Magnet School is just adjacent, and I park in their parking lot for $90 a month. There are many cute little restaurants over by the el stop, and Wrigley Field (and hence all the bars you could want) are only 6 or so blocks south. My only complaint is that there are only 4 washers and 4 dryers in the laundry room, and sometimes when I try to do laundry they are all taken (or occasionally not working). All in all, I would highly recommend this building to anyone who wants an inexpensive place in a nice neighborhood with lots of conveniences and a friendly staff. |
