| ...This building is a NIGHTMARE - they have been 'rehabbing' and tuckpointing for over three years. Facade work and street closures actually drove three of the lobby businesses into bankruptcy. The 8th floor is still unfinished, with walls between apartments sledgehammered out. There are also gaping holes in the 8th floor hall ceiling, which water pours out of (into garbage cans) when t rains. In addition, the gutted apartments on 8 are infested with pigeons, which sometimes make their way into the hallways.
...The owners have repeatedly re-financed the building (for 'repairs') - to the tune of millions of dollars. (This is publicly available info from data vendors such as CDB/ChoicePoint.) I suspect they are using the money to purchase other properties.
...As BAD as this building is, a contact at the Alerman Mary Ann Amith's office says they are actually having worse problems with other buildings the Kopley Group owns.
...AVOID!
(Although they DO provide complimentary coffee and donuts in the lobby on one Saturday of each month...) |
