...at the time, there was a pleasant but unresponsive manger. He soon left, and was replace by an actively hostile manager. Although our apartment was recarpeted before we moved in, they put in used carpeting - there were already cigarette burns in it when we moved in. Also, it seemed that whoever had painted had only bothered to paint *around* light fixtures and switch covers.
...Elevators were a pain, and I actually got trapped in one for about an hour. While the building was generally quiet, we did experience one episode of a neighbor who had to summon the police to remove his 'date' from the hallway, where she was yellling "William, I want my shoes! You promised me DINNER, William! I don'r care, CALL the police! Give me my shoes!" - ...Although she did finally leave - with the police.
...There was also one other incident with the police being summoned to a dispute between a neighbor and his live-in girlfriend, who was not on the lease. Oddly, the police took him into custody, not her. They both later moved out.
...Another neighbor had proplems with the dog in the apartment above hers - it was left caged all day, and would bark and howl. She finally reported it to animal cruelty.
...Also, the building used to have a doorman from 6pm to midnight, but there is no longer a doorman at all.
I think they are overpriced for what they are selling - I looked at their vacancies posting yesterday, and they are asking $700 for a studio, and I have seen nice one-bedrooms two blocks away for $625. |
