If you want more grief in your life, live here

The building is an old building that has been remodeled to look like a new one. Consequently, there are always maintenace issues: brown water, loud pipes, elevators breaking down, some people in the building have no air conditioning, there is poor/no phone service on some of the floors. On top of that, rent increases $200 per year. Parking increases $30 every three months. At lease signing time, you are told to pay up or get out. The management is beyond unhelpful. If you have a problem, you are reminded that the building has a very high occupancy rate, and that you are welcome to leave. Elderly people, who have lived in the building for years, are being told that they should leave to make room for better paying tenants. It's shocking how cruel the management is to the building's tenants. The maintenance staff doesn't even bring tools to your apartment to make repairs. They just come, look at whatever it is that is broken and say it is supposed to be that way. |
