I love coming home

I just read the negative review left by the "almost couldn't be worse" author, and it prompted me to stand up in defense of our building. I have no idea what that person is talking about when they trash the management. Sam is fantastic. He is attentive, he knows my name (and everyone else's), he is always working to better the building, he is accessible, and he responds immediately to relevant concerns. Yes, the office asks that we only pick up packages after 6:30 pm. Big deal. I'm gone all day anyway. Sure, when you get off the elevator, you can smell it if someone is cooking. But, I'm not sure what that person is referring to with regard to the "bad circulation". When I open the windows, I get a breeze. And there aren't any smells seeping into my apartment from the hallway. The building has more than one apartment layout, so you can get a better kitchen. And if there is a problem with anything in the apartment--plumbing, appliances, anything--the maintenance guys take care of it immediately. I do agree with that person regarding location. It can't be beat. There's never a problem getting a cab, I feel safe walking around at all hours of the night, there are 24 hour stores and grocery stores a block or two away, plenty of shopping within walking distance, great restaurants right down the street, and the red line is 2 blocks away. AND we're close to the lake. I plan to live in this building as long as I stay in Chicago. |
