Apartment Review for 1508-12 W. Farwell Ave. Apts - Chicago, IL

Landlord seems great at first but will morph into a total jerk the minute you ask for an extenstion to pay your rent (by even one day) or if you inform him you are moving at the end of your lease. He seems to have a big problem when people don't want to renew but can't seem to realize that people are leaving because of his actions or lack thereof. And good luck getting your sky-high security deposit back...he likes to fight tooth and nail to avoid giving it back. Claims he follows the tenants rights act but really doesn't know too much about it. The building is going to hell because he is renting to any and everyone, including criminals. He's also attempted to solicit sexual favors from female tenants in exchange for rent payments so females beware!! Sink leaking? Good luck getting anyone to fix it...I lived there over a year with a leaking sink. Got a problem with a tenant? Don't tell the landlord...he'll go get the problem tenant and bring them to your door and tell them YOU are complaining about them!!! Need a parking space? He's so busy renting to non-tenants you probably won't get one! Parking fees are atrocious and the rent is a bit steep for what the building has to offer.
