Apartment Review for 211 E. Delaware Place - Chicago, IL

Seriously hate it here! The building sucks, the building managers suck, there are always problems here. This building is infested with cockroaches and rats! My apartment has been sprayed multiple times and there are still bugs! Every person I've talked to who lives here hates it also-laundry is stolen all of the time, the elevators are always broken and the "sun deck" is never open! I thought that it was nice when I first toured it, however it is just a facade. The floors aren't real wood, the appliances are cheap and work poorly, the bathrooms are disgusting/poorly renovated and the walls are so thin that you can hear everything going on above, below and next to your apartment. Also this is a smoking building (which they don't tell you when you tour) so expect your apartment to smell like smoke because people smoke in the hallways. I wasn't sure my end date for my summer internship and the leasing agent Mike convinced me to sign because he said I could leave anytime in August and just pay for the days that I am living there, however apparently Mike is no longer working at this building and Laura (the building manager) says that it's against their "policy" so now that I want to leave they refuse to release me from my lease! DO NOT SIGN A LEASE AND LIVE HERE!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!! The only redeeming factor is the nice old man who works at nighttime! :)
