Apartment Review for Cityfront Place - Chicago, IL

This place is all about false advertising. Forget all about “plush” carpeting and instead go buy some stain removal solutions. My carpet had black areas all over from day 1. The appliances were all unacceptably old. Several of them broke down on numerous occasions and had to be either fixed or completely replaced. The noise level is unbearable. Besides the construction work going on all around the area, I knew exactly what TV station my neighbors were watching, when they were vacuuming, talking on the phone, even showering. There is so much noise coming from the bathrooms! By the way, do not forget to also buy a toilet plunger before you move in, your toilet will break down on a daily basis. Going on to the maintenance staff - you will be making lots of calls since everything in this building is falling apart. Be prepared to encounter their rude attitude, lack of respect and laziness, jobs half done. The “health club”: limited equipment, horrendous music station (you will hate the 80s by the time you move out), only 2 TVs (but you cannot bring your headphones to tune in), dirty towels, cleaning supplies that will lead to an asthma attack, unbelievably unqualified staff.. Watch out where you park, water from the pool leaked in the garage last year (so they had to close down the pool for quite a while for repairs). Also, do not have your friends/visitors park in the Cityfront garage, they will have a very hard time trying to pay and get out. No wonder that the garage exit barrier is always broken and in the way. The sundeck will also disappoint you as it has very few lounge chairs, only 2 grills, 2 tables – all of them always dirty, so bring your own towel and cleaning supplies if you want to use them. The laundry room is an even bigger pain: there are days when most machines are out of order, thus long waiting lines & people taking your laundry out if you arrive one second too late. As far as the management is concerned, they cannot be bothered..
