Apartment Review for Dearborn Building Iv, Llc - Chicago, IL

-- The windows are incredibly old -- this winter wind was essentially blowing right through them. -- At least my apartment, the halls and breezeway are infested with hundreds and hundreds of moths, and we've seen our share of cockroaches and centipedes. -- Everything is backwards. Faucets, locks, light switches, the oven dial, refrigerator door... it's really weird. -- Also the oven door falls off. And the kitchen counter isn't attached. Seriously, don't pull on it. -- Every other tenant in the building owns a tiny yappy dog. -- I found a syringe on top of the fridge when moving in. -- First floor tenants beware: every day one of the residents moves two shopping carts filled with trash past your apartment and out into the hall. The shower above my unit leaked dirty shower water into my bedroom for FOUR MONTHS, causing a 9 square foot section of my ceiling to collapse. Maintenence and management wouldn't return my phone calls for FOUR MONTHS, kept giving me the run-around "Just another week, promise!" for FOUR MONTHS, and when they did get around to repairing the bathroom above me, they tore out the bathroom before fixing the 9 square foot hole in my ceiling. Guess who's apartment was filled with demolished bathroom dust when I came home. Positive: The neighborhood is absolutely beautiful.
