Apartment Review for Deming Manor - Chicago, IL

I arrived on my move-in day to set up my bed and found, to my great horror, that there were between 30 and 50 dead cockroaches littered across the floor. The building manager was very accommodating and explained that they were in there because the exterminator had just been there and they had all crawled into my unit to die, so I moved the rest of my stuff in after being assured that there would be no more sightings of the little darlings. The first night I stayed there, I turned on the light and caught a large specimen scurrying across the floor to the safety of my cupboards. Also, there was mold in the bathroom that had been caulked over, so it couldn't be cleaned and the unit was absolutely filthy. The new kitchen was nice, but not nice enough to deal with roaches. I got out of my lease because of the vermin, but I would NOT RECOMMEND LIVING IN THIS BUILDING!!!
