Apartment Review for Presidential Towers - Chicago, IL

We had lived at PT for 3.5 years. The past year and a half were horrible - PT management allowed too many students in the building. I felt like I was in a dorm.

The Tower Management is pathetic! I am shocked that Habitat would have so many incompetent individuals on their payroll. There have been countless incidents where incorrect information was relayed to us by management. We are in the process of disputing charges that have been presented to us to replace the carpet after we moved out. We were aware that the carpet was dirty prior to us moving. I asked 2 different people in the leasing office if it was necessary to steam clean the carpet before we left, and they said "no - just a good vacuum cleaning would be sufficient". Now a month after we have left, they said that they had to replace the whole carpet and have charged us over $200 in addition to keeping our deposit. I asked to see pictures of the carpet when they determined that it would need to be replaced, and they refused to send me copies. I refused to pay the charges until they proved that it was necessary to replace the carpet. I just rec'd a letter that they sent me to collections. I am in the process of working with the Better Business Bureau to correct this. I think that the way they do business is disgusting, and I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to move there. I would absolutely NOT RECOMMEND moving here.
