Apartment Review for Riverwoods Apartments - Chicago, IL

My neighbors think it's ok to hang out RIGHT outside my door. They allow their children to run wild in the hallway ALL THE TIME. As weird as it is, they allow them to just run around in their underwear IN THE HALLWAY. I allmost killed myself carrying tons of groceries one day because these kids had their marbles all over the landing and ignored the fact that I was walking through and just kept playing marbles as if I wasn't even there. They blare their music so loud the doors vibrate. The people below me blare their music in their car at 7am on Sat mornings. On the weekends you would think this parking lot was a mechanics shop. Every time the people next door go in and out of their apartment I can feel them slam their door. I can't come home without having to weave through 10 people on the front apartment steps and all through the hallway. I don't understand why they think it's ok to hang out in the hallway or on the stairs outside. I swear some of them seem to just live on the concrete stairs to the entrance of the apartment. It states clearly on the lease that this is a VIOLATION, yet management and security do NOTHING. The cockroaches are disgusting. On really hot days the hallway smells like sewage. Although there are designated areas for the dumpsters, Groot insists on taking up parking spaces with their nasty dumpsters. Good luck finding a spot after 11pm if you live on Windsor Ct. The ice cream truck drove through 6 times yesterday blaring it's annoying song. Last year it was bareable when it would only show up ONCE A DAY like a normal ice cream truck should. I've had the police in my building several times. Gang control officers are not strangers to these apartments. Maintanance will go in and out of your apartment without notice or leaving a notice that they were even in your apartment. Walked up on the maitanance guy putting his key in my door, had no good explanation why. I have had money go missing. I now have to lock up my valuables and I never leave money in my apartment. On hot days you can smell sewage in the hallway. The old metal frame windows cause mold to grow on the sills in the winter. The only positive I can say is, the walk in closet is huge, the central heat and ac is great and the brick wall adds a nice touch. Don't move here if you are a decent human being. It's just not worth the aggravation I've had to put up with these few years. The stress has taken weeks off my life. If you are an inconsiderate loser, then you will fit right in.
