Apartment Review for Woodland Park Apartments - Chicago, IL

Based on the location and apperance of the complex, it seems to be a great deal for the money. They are currently converting to Condos which could cause a problem if you are a renter. They are still offering rental agreements, but if your unit is sold before your lease is up, you will need to move. I considered purchasing a unit but based on my experience as a renter I reconsidered. The buildings appear to be in great conditions, but when the Chicago winter hit I had second thoughts. The living room is ALWAYS cold. I even with plastic on the window and it didnt help. If you purchase a unit, be prepared to invest in a better Bay Window in the livingroom. If there is no one occupying the unit directly under yours, your bathroom and kitchen floors are ALWAYS freezing cold in the winter. If someone occupies the unit above you, you can always here it when they use the toilet. It actually sounds like someone is in a stall right next to you. Since the units dont W/D, the laundry rooms are only on 2 of 7 floors. The laundry rooms are always down for something. And dont even get me started on the elevators. Can you say "Sky High Assessment Fees"!!!!!!. Oh yeah, there are also no storage facilities in the building. And off and on electrical issues (depending on the unit or building) But the off-street parking is great!
